Incomparable Buttons began on a kitchen table in Johannesburg in 1982. Now employing 45 local women, this enterprise makes ceramic buttons of all shapes and sizes, many of which reflect the rich diversity in wildlife and ethnic artwork of South Africa's peoples. The company is fully committed to using environmentally-friendly production practices and materials. Each button is created and painted by hand, dried in the African sun, then fired in a very hot oven. This process ensures these buttons are washable and safe for dry-cleaning, making them not only beautiful but practical!
These small pieces of handmade art may be put to practical use in sewing, scrapbooking, card-making, and other craft projects.
